My Review - To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Stars
Genre: Southern Gothic, Historical Fiction.
Well after seeing this book was on the top list of books of all time to read, when I found it in a box of books that arrived in my shop, it was a no brainer, I had to read it. I had very high expectations!
This book tackles some very important topics that were so prominent in those days, for one example like racial inequality. It has many lessons to be learnt from this book and I can understand the depth of learning, understanding and compassion that can come from reading it. However...
I really struggled through it. It's not a big book 376 pages and I thought I would devour this book in no time but it took me a really unnecessary long time, because I just wasn't that into it. I was interested and wanted to know what happend but rather bored to be fair. It got a little more exciting in the second half of the book but even the end was disappointing. I felt completely let down. Boo Radley after all the hype and we only saw the slightest little snippet with not much description. I did however enjoy the character of Atticus Finch he was a very well written character with great integrity.
